One day recently I was thinking about gadgets…and how there are many I dislike, and just find to be a waste of space. Unfortunately, with many of them, you need to use them at least once, to decide if they are rubbish, or really useful. And, of course, unless something actually breaks or malfunctions, you have no valid reason to’ return the item to the place of purchase’, as recommended. Who writes this codswallop, anyway? (Surely it can’t be a woman? With our multi-tasking skills and the multi-layered brain that parenthood and housekeeping demand, we women just know this ‘immaculate’ return is just NOT going to happen!).
Despite all this whingeing, I must admit there are some gadgets that are just sheer brilliance. And as I was cooking a meal at the time I was pondering this matter, I looked a little more carefully at my kitchen gadgets. Although I have a lot of utensils, I do use almost all of them (and that description – ‘almost all’ – leads me to believe I am overdue for another ‘search and destroy’ mission in my Kitchen – and everywhere else, also, but that’s another story!). And yes, there are some major favourites…some utensils that have moved far past the ‘gadget’ level…into the ‘essential, can’t-imagine-life-without-it’ level.
I have written an Ezine Article about my absolute ‘you beaut’ finds – it’s called –
A Few of My Favourite Things – Kitchen Gadgets
– and it was just ‘published’ yesterday. I was just thinking as I am writing, about some of my actual cooking equipment – and therein lays another complete article….oh-h-h, yes! Keep watching, it may come soon.
But in the meantime, I’m on a bit of a roll with thoughts of quite a few various ‘Favourite Things’ and planning a series of them. I have the next article actually awaiting approval, and yet another in roughest draft form. Now all I need is some interested readers!
Enjoy!
Christine
